Professionally, I’ve been an in-house copywriter at a large corporation and at a mid-sized agency. I’ve written for a nonprofit organization and an online news journal. Since 2008, I have enjoyed a successful career as a freelance copywriter, editor, reporter, and author. My client list shows that I’m proficient in the language of a wide variety of industries.
Personally, I have spent the better part of my life either parked somewhere with a pen and pad, or tinkering in the garden. I have written and gardened with equal fervor throughout my life – first in New Jersey where I graduated with an English degree from Rutgers University, then on Maui, Hawaii, and now in Portland, Oregon, where I’ve lived since 2005. My husband and I manage a small urban oasis that contains hundreds of species of plants, a small flock of game hens, a cat with an attitude problem, and a little boy who learned to weed before he would walk. A breast cancer survivor, I’ve discovered I love and excel at fundraising – last year my Race for the Cure team raised over $15,000 to fund research and provide screening and treatment services to women in need.
Besides copywriting, I also write children’s books. I hope to encourage my son’s generation to reconnect with their natural environment and discover the secret bliss that can be found in the growing of and respect for green things.
