Don Colliver had a break in his schedule and wanted to do some good. The Portland-based producer, writer, and director started thinking about the different non-profits that he cared about and how he might help them. He thought back to the days when he volunteered at the Albina branch of the Multnomah County Library, an experience that he says was a “zen meditation-like practice.” He came to appreciate the library more through this experience, and became more acutely disturbed by its flimsy government funding (libraries rely heavily on ‘ ballot initiatives ‘). It was clear to him that this was an organization that deserved a little help.
